Run For Education Season 2 - Shortening the Educational Inequality Gap


On May 8th, Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam participated in the discussion at the launch of the Run for Education season 2 at UEF University as a Strategic Partner.

The launch event was attended by businesses, ambassadors, and individuals, especially more than 150 students who wish to contribute to the community through the impact of education.

Accordingly, this year's season is held online with the goal of raising one (01) billion VND. The 21-day running challenge (from June 1st to June 21st, 2024), aims to mobilize the community to love running and support education in the country. Participants not only practice perseverance and tenacity in running to achieve their goals, but also help 400 students in Hong Ngu, Dong Thap learn English, STEM, and entrepreneurship education, helping them have a better future.

At the event, representative of Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam (MEVN), Mr. Vu Long Hai – Corporate Communications Manager, shared about the projects that MEVN has been successfully implementing in its journey of incubation and development the talented young generations, contributing to reducing inequality in education.

Mr. Vu Long Hai (speaker) shared the solutions MEVN implemented to shorten the inequality gap in education at the discussion.

He shared: "With the strategy "contributing to sustainable social development through business activities", our activities are carried out with a long-term orientation, contributing to creating a quality education for students. Students from elementary school, middle school to university students. Typically, the project with Teach for Vietnam aims to build facilities (such as STEM Lab and STEM Garden) for students and sponsor teaching costs for teachers; Sponsor high-tech equipment for students at many universities and organize technology competitions such as the Mitsubishi Electric Cup Automation (MECA) and the Sustainable Initiative Competition for the Automation, Heat and Refrigeration students.”

Besides sharing from businesses, attendees also gained a deeper perspective on the difficult circumstances of children in rural areas bordering the border, through the sharing of fellow friends. Teachers of Teach for Vietnam about the situation of inequality in education in rural areas and solutions.

 They are young people, have different fields of study, and come from many regions, but they share the same youthful enthusiasm, wishing to bring a better future for children in rural areas, through knowledge and love.

“Can I study until 9th grade? I go to work", "If I have a job, I drop out of school, if I'm unemployed, I go to school", "The dropout rate in a class in Hong Ngu district is 40%", etc. are heartbreaking stories told by Ms. Nguyen Quynh Thu (second from left) - fellow season 7 of Teach for Vietnam, is currently a teacher at an elementary school in Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap.

With the orientation of contributing to sustainable social development through business activities and clearly realizing the importance of education, Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam hopes to contribute to spreading the spirit of contributing to quality education, creating a better future for all children.
