The Mitsubishi Electric Cup Automation (MECA) 2025 has successfully concluded, honoring the most outstanding team among 14 leading universities across Vietnam.
The grand finale, held on July 12 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), showcased impressive performances and innovative automation solutions from talented young engineers.
MECA 2025 serves as a prestigious platform dedicated to nurturing and developing the capabilities of young engineers – the “green seeds” contributing to a sustainable society. The competition offered students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Mitsubishi Electric’s state-of-the-art equipment, enabling them to transform theoretical knowledge into practical, high-value applications through the design and manufacturing of automation machines.
MECA 2025 – A Platform for Nurturing Vietnam’s Young Engineers
This year, teams were challenged to design machines that not only ensured efficiency but also optimized costs, addressing real business challenges. Beyond technical expertise, MECA 2025 also encouraged students to improve soft skills such as persuasive presentation and critical debate.
A highlight of the competition was the direct presentation of solutions before a judging panel comprising representatives from the Vietnam Automation Association (VAA), business leaders, and academia. This gave students the chance to receive direct evaluation and valuable feedback from top experts in the field.

After the preliminary rounds held across 14 leading universities in automation – including Hanoi University of Science and Technology (SEEE), Thuy Loi University (TLU), Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT), Hung Yen University of Technology and Education (UTEHY), University of Transport and Communications (UTC), Hanoi University of Industry (HAUI), University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang (UD-DUT), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Can Tho University (CTU), Tra Vinh University (TVU), and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) – 21 teams earned their places in the final round.
